Fort Worth is too big for one HVAC page to be useful, so this one is about the part of it I actually drive every week: north and northeast Fort Worth, roughly from Loop 820 up past Alliance, and east toward the Haltom City and Richland Hills line.

Most companies in this market will not publish a number. Here’s what the work goes for. Treat these as estimate ranges — the real price depends on your equipment, its age, refrigerant type, tonnage and how accessible the unit is.

One note specific to the newer far-north subdivisions: many of these homes have two systems, and a full-house replacement is two separate jobs. If only one is failing, replacing one now and one later is a reasonable plan. I’ll quote it either way and I won’t pretend the second one is an emergency when it isn’t.
Two Completely Different HVAC Problems in the Same Half of the City
Newer far-north construction: Park Glen, Villages of Woodland Springs, Crawford Farms, Heritage, Harriet Creek Ranch. Park Glen alone runs to more than 3,000 homes, and Woodland Springs and the neighborhoods around Heritage Trace Parkway are newer still. What these homes have in common: little to no tree shade, big roof area, two stories, and often a single system straining to hold both floors. The failure mode is temperature split between floors and high summer bills — not dead equipment.
For these houses the fix is usually airflow and insulation, not a new condenser. I check return sizing, supply run length, damper balance and attic insulation depth before I quote equipment. An attic insulation inspection is free information that can save you thousands in unnecessary tonnage.
Older north and northeast Fort Worth: Fossil Creek, Summerfields, the Beach Street and Riverside corridors, and the neighborhoods near Meacham. Here the housing is 1960s through 1990s. Original ducts, undersized returns, aging gas furnaces, and systems that have been repaired by whoever was cheapest that year. The work here is straight repair, honest repair-versus-replace math and duct correction.
Same city, opposite problems. That’s why I don’t quote anything over the phone based on square footage.

Heat, Then Cold, Then Pollen
Three climate realities drive almost every call I get in this part of Fort Worth.
Summer load. Weeks of triple digits with a system running most of the day. In an unshaded far-north subdivision, the attic above your ductwork can exceed 130 degrees, which means the air leaving your registers is warmer than the air that left the coil. Sealed, correctly sized duct in a well-insulated attic is worth more than two SEER points.
Sudden hard freezes. February 2021 remains the stress test: DFW at minus 2 degrees on February 16, and at or below freezing for 139 straight hours (National Weather Service Fort Worth). Heat pumps in the newer neighborhoods ran on electric strip heat for days. Untested strips and unmaintained furnaces were the ones that failed.
Allergens. Oak, cedar, elm and pecan in spring, ragweed from August into November (IQAir Fort Worth). If your filter rack doesn’t seal or your return duct is leaking, your HVAC system is a pollen delivery service. That’s a cheap fix that people spend a lot of money avoiding.

North Fort Worth HVAC Questions
How much of Fort Worth do you actually cover? North, far north and northeast — roughly 76137, 76131, 76244, 76177, 76179, 76148, 76117, 76118 and 76106. I’d rather tell you up front that downtown, the south side and the west side are outside my normal range than take the call and show up in two hours.
How long will it take you to get to Park Glen or Woodland Springs? Park Glen, Summerfields and Fossil Creek are typically 15 to 20 minutes for me. Woodland Springs, Heritage and the Alliance area run 20 to 30 depending on I-35W. I’ll give you a real window when you call, not a four-hour block.
My new-construction house has a huge electric bill in summer. Is my system undersized? Sometimes, but more often it’s duct leakage and thin attic insulation. Newer homes in far-north Fort Worth commonly have long flex runs through a brutally hot attic. I measure and inspect before recommending equipment, because an oversized replacement makes humidity worse and doesn’t fix a leaking duct.
Do you handle two-system homes and zoned equipment? Yes. Two-system and zoned setups are standard in Woodland Springs, Crawford Farms and the newer Keller ISD sections of Fort Worth. I read the fault codes on communicating equipment instead of guessing at parts.
Can you do a pre-purchase HVAC inspection? Yes. If you’re buying in this part of town, I’ll inspect both systems, check ages and refrigerant type, look at the ductwork and attic insulation, and give you a written picture of what you’re inheriting and what it will cost. That’s a much better use of a service call than finding out in July.
Do you do commercial work up here? Light commercial — small offices, retail suites, restaurants and shops along the Beach Street, North Tarrant Parkway and I-35W corridors — plus refrigeration for coolers and prep units.
